Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon (Pretty Sailor Soldier Sailor Moon) is about a story about a klutzy, crybaby 14 year old girl named Tsukino Usagi (Sailor Moon). She was given special magical powers by Luna, her pet cat. With these powers she transforms into Sailor Moon, a super heroine fighting evil on behalf of the Moon. Even as a super heroine she keeps her kluzty, crybaby self. She was soon joined by Mizuno Ami (Sailor Mercury), Hino Rei (Sailor Mars), Kino Makoto (Sailor Jupiter), and Aino Minako (Sailor Venus). Together they formed a team righting wrong on behalf of the Moon. Sailor Moon was also helped by Chiba Mamoru (Tuxedo Kamen).

In the first season, the Inner Senshi was battling the Dark Kingdom and also had a mission to find their lost princess. Soon it was learned that Usagi was Selenity, the Moon Princess. In the second season (SMR), the team joined in a fight against Ail & Ann and later on the Black Moon Family & Wiseman. Here they got to know a kawaii girl call Tsukino Usagi (Chibi Usa) who is the future daugther of Usagi and Mamoru. The third season (SMS), Sailor Moon found the Outer Senshi Tenoh Haruka (Sailor Uranus), Kiaoh Michiru (Sailor Neptune), Meioh Setsuna (Sailor Pluto) and Tomoe Hotaru (Sailor Saturn), during their battle against Death Buster.
